Description du projet

D'Geschicht vun eiser Gemeng lieweg maachen

Mamer ass eng Gemeng mat enger ganz laanger Geschicht. An der Antiquitéit huet eng wichteg réimesch Strooss, déi vun Arel op Tréier gefouert huet, duerch d'Gemengegebitt gefouert. An de leschte Joerzéngten hunn archeologesch Ausgruewungen interessant Iwwerreschter un d'Liicht bruecht, vun deenen d'wëssenschaftlech Etüd nach ëmmer amgaang ass. De Patrimoine aus aneren historesche Perioden ass och beträchtlech, souwéi d'Zuel vun de Dokumenter a Publikatiounen, déi sech mat der Geschicht vu Mamer befaassen.

Allerdéngs fannen d'Leit, déi sech net mat der Geschicht vun eiser Gemeng auskennen – an déi se dacks beim Spadséieren entdecken – op dësen interessante Plaze wéineg visuell Hiweiser, déi hinnen erlaben, méi iwwert d'historescht Ierwen a säi Kontext ze léieren.

Ech schloen dofir vir, op Plaze mat besonnescher historescher Bedeitung zu Mamer Bornen oder Marke mat QR-Coden opzestellen.

Hei sinn déi Plazen, déi als éischt markéiert solle ginn (d'Netzwierk kéint zu engem spéideren Zäitpunkt vergréissert ginn):

•    Kiem zu Capellen

•    réimesch Zillefabrick beim Hierebësch

•    Réimesch Thermen zu Mamer

•    Vicus mameranus um Fouss vum Tossenbierg

•    Mamer Schlass

D'QR-Coden op de Bornen oder Marke géifen op eng ze konzipéierend Websäit verweisen, déi Informatiounen a verschiddene Sproochen (Lëtzebuergesch, Franséisch, Englesch) iwwer déi jeeweileg historesch Plazen offréiert. D'Websäit, mat Multimedia-Inhalter (Texter, Fotoen, Audio, Videoen, etc.), kéint an enker Zesummenaarbecht mat  engerlokaler an/oder regionaler Asbl entwéckelt ginn. D'Informatiounen, déi mat de QR-Code verbonne sinn, kéinten einfach aktualiséiert ginn.

Schlussendlech kéint e permanente Spadséierwee, deen déi verschidden historesch Standuerter verbënnt, ausgewise ginn. Guidéiert Spadséiergäng op dësem Wee kéinte periodesch organiséiert ginn.

Zesummegefaasst wieren dës Informatiounselementer e fantastescht an héich nohalteg Instrument, fir dat historescht Ierw vun eiser Gemeng hiren Awunner a Visiteuren ze presentéieren. D'Bornen oder Marke kéinten och mat zousätzleche QR-Code versi ginn, déi op Informatiounen iwwer d'Natur ronderëm déi verschidde Site verweisen.

Bringing Mamer’s history to life

Mamer is a municipality with a very long history. In ancient times, a major Roman road leading from Arlon to Trier passed through it. Over the past few decades, archaeological excavations have unearthed interesting remains, the scientific study of which is still ongoing. The heritage from other historical periods is also considerable, as is the number of documents and publications devoted to the history of Mamer.

However, people who are unfamiliar with the history of our municipality – and who often discover it whilst out walking – find few visual cues at these interesting sites that enable them to learn more about the heritage and its context.

I therefore propose the installation of posts or markers featuring QR codes at locations of particular historical significance in Mamer.

Here are the sites to be marked in the first instance (the network could be expanded at a later date):

•    Kiem in Capellen

•    Roman tile factory at ‘Hierebësch’

•    Roman baths in Mamer

•    Vicus mameranus at the foot of the Tossenberg

•    Mamer Schlass

•    Nicolas Mameranus monument in Mamer

•    Statue of Nicolas Frantz & Josy Barthel in Mamer (directly in front of the statue; the QR code on the sign on the square is no longer valid)

•    The mills of the Mamer Valley (Thillsmillen site)

•    The prehistoric fort at “Juckelsbësch”

•    The old farmhouses in Holzem

The QR codes on the posts or markers would link to a website to be created, containing information in several languages (Luxembourgish, French, English) about the respective historical sites. The website, featuring multimedia content (text, photos, audio, videos, etc.), could be developed in close collaboration with a non-profit local and or regional organisation Mamer Geschicht. The information linked to the QR codes could be easily updated.

Finally, a permanent walking trail linking the various historic sites could be established. Guided walks along this trail could be organised periodically.

Taken together, these information elements would be a fantastic and highly sustainable tool for showcasing our municipality’s historical heritage to its residents and visitors. The posts or signposts could also be fitted with additional QR codes linking to information about the natural environment around the various sites.
