Pedestrian Safety Enhancement on Route d'Arlon

To ensure the safety and well-being of everyone in our community, a minor infrastructure improvement aims to increase pedestrian safety along the walkway shown in the project visualization .

Key Project Details

• Location: The barrier will be constructed on Route d'Arlon, specifically on the section just before the intersection with Rue Dange St Romain.

• The Upgrade: Installation of a modern pedestrian barrier along the outer edge of the sidewalk.

• Design & Aesthetics: The barrier shall feature a minimalist, semi-transparent design with fewer vertical bars.

• Length: The safety railing will span a total distance of about 20 meters, covering the critical curve of the walkway.

Why is this being built?

Route d'Arlon experiences heavy, busy traffic, making this specific curved section a potential hazard. The primary benefit of this project is to create a physical separation between vehicles and walkers.

Crucially, many children take this exact route every day to get to school. This new barrier will act as a vital protective shield, giving parents peace of mind and keeping our youngest residents and pedestrians safe from the ongoing traffic.

Project Investment

The estimated cost for a project shall not exceed €10,000. This covers custom-curved steel fabrication, secure ground foundations, and eventually design costs required to blend the structure seamlessly into the local landscape.
